Following the Interspill Conference Committee meeting on 4 May, we are pleased to be able to release the very latest Interspill Programme. The Committee agreed on the Conference programme and the experienced session Chairs.
The Conference is a blend of traditional oil spill topics – incident management, contingency planning and preparedness, subsea response, and dispersants but is also looking at hazardous and noxious substances and emerging risks such as those from future fuels and dealing with plastic pollution
This industry never stands still and the conference will have sessions on surveillance, modelling and visualisation, applying lessons to be learned from case studies of recent incidents and integrating new technology into operations.
The industry is very aware that incidents can have a significant effect on local communities and there are sessions on communication and outreach to share best practices.
Three days of the conference seems a lot when you start to plan it. However, the quality of papers we have received from our speakers was very high. It was hard for the committee to fit such quality into JUST three days! Consequently, there are many kernels of knowledge in over 50 poster displays that are worthy of study and wider discussion.
Supporting the conference there are a strong series of science workshops from Cedre and ITOPF taking place each day covering; trends in propulsion, atmospheric pollution from chemical spills, plastic pollution and spill insensitive tropical environments. These workshops capture in detail the science and lessons learned from recent spill events that will inform how the industry shapes its response to those in the future.
As an industry that embraces innovation, there are workshops every day that enable the exhibitors to present the latest innovative equipment coming to market and reflect how the industry is innovating to respond to the changes in response.
Interspill 2022 has adopted a new Daily Delegate Rate of Euro100 per day for all, with access to all of the events including the Conference.
New for 2022 is the industry-led Sector Themed days that focus in detail on current topics relevant to all involved in the following industry sectors; Ports and Harbours, Shipping and Salvage and Clean Seas.
